BARRETT PRODUCT EVALUATION

Barrett Products are a family run company that was born from a desire to produce exhaust systems that were second to none. Jason Barrett the company director was a very competitive racer and like all racers was looking for an edge over his competitors.

Jason was working as a metal fabricator and welder, he decided he could make an exhaust system to suit his race bike that would give him an edge over his competitors, and after much development he created the first Barrett race system. That system became the envy of his rivals and soon people were asking Jason to build them an exhaust system for there bikes, with steady demand Barrett products has grown to the company it is today.

Barrett Products are renowned for there quality. Jason said countless hours of research and development go into every exhaust system that the company produces. Barrett products have there own Dyno so they can fine tune exhausts that are under development and all the components that make up a barrett exhaust system are stress tested to insure that a Barrett exhaust will stand the test of time.

All Barrett products are hand crafted by a dedicated team of bike enthusiasts.

Jason Barrett from Barrett Products has provided us with a Barrett Muffler for evaluation which we have fitted to our Honda CRF450X, we chose a black finish with a red anodised end cap as we think it sets of the Honda very nicely.

The pipe bolted straight on as if it was from the factory, The overall finish of this product is outstanding and a piece of manufacturing art,The brackets supplied with the muffler hold the unit very securely, There is a rubber damper between the brackets and the pipe which stops any vibration while holding the unit snugly to the sub frame.

The end cap is a thing of beauty being machined from a single peace of billet aluminium it is fitted with a removable spark arrestor and the end cap is removable so you can repack the unit when needed.

Well as they say the proof is in the pudding, the sound that comes from a barrett muffler will give you thrills that are hard to find outside of the red light district and the increase in power is awesome, This muffler allows the bike to flow all its exhaust emissions smoothly de restricting the engine without making the bike sound like a jet fighter coming into land.

The power spread is smooth and all the way through the rev range without any unexpected hits coughs or splutters Jason's research has certainly paid off.
